C1W Olympic
debut
Following some derogatory comments made about C1 Women, I have been reflecting on what this category means to me. I have written my teammate Mallory a letter, for she is a good friend, a respected role model and one of the pioneers of C1W. I wanted to express my admiration and gratitude to her, this category and the people in it who have dramatically shaped me. I believe that the debut of our class in Tokyo is a defining moment for our sport and I wanted to share what it means to me.

My
Story
A canoe slalom athlete, a proud founder of Slalom Inspires, a Managing Director... I've fallen into the trap of thinking this is who I am and not just what I do. I'm learning that I am so much more than the jobs or qualifications that I used to define myself as. I’m a fierce daughter, sister, friend, girlfriend, a grateful role model, a proud Scot, a ceilidh lover, a chocolate enthusiast, someone who values kindness, integrity, hilarity and someone who is passionate about making a difference to a world that is bigger than myself. I am, like most others, just a person trying to navigate the world in the best way I know how with the help of the people I hold dearest.
